Milford Trees information on display at Milford Library until end of month

Milford Trees, Inc. has a display of photographs, maps, award plaques and tree-related items at the landing of the Milford Public Library through the end of January.

Many of the volunteer group's plantings of trees in public areas, such as the green, and along public streets, are depicted.

Maps of the Milford Legacy Arboretum show established trees, those planted in honor or in memory of a loved one, and future tree plantings that conform to the Arboretum's design. The arboretum is comprised of six areas of the city, including the green, the upper and lower duck ponds, Parsons Complex, and Jefferson and Higby Parks.

A bulletin board by the entrance to the Children's Department allows adults and children to explore and hone their tree leaf identification skills. Also, counting rings to determine a tree's age and depositing one's estimate in the box on the book checkout counter might win a T-shirt in a random drawing in the Children's Department at the end of January.

Volunteers who would like to help plant trees or find out about MTI activities are welcome to contact Milford Trees, Inc. at or through its website at, or Milford Trees, Inc., P.O. Box 5082, Milford, CT  06460 or (203) 701-9091.
