Children’s Department
The children’s department at Milford Public Library, 57 New Haven Ave., is holding events the next few weeks. For information call: 203-783-3304.
Toddler time: Wednesdays at 10 and 11 a.m. Share fingerplays, songs and stories. For ages 2 and under with a caregiver.
Stay & Play Thursday: Thursdays, Sept. 4 and 18 from 10 a.m. to noon. Stop by the library and play board games, build with Legos, do a simple art activity or play floor puzzles.
Music Together: Wednesday, Sept.10 at 6 p.m. Experience family music with a free demonstration of the Music Together program. For caregivers and children ages 0-5 to share music, instruments and movement together. Children of all abilities are welcome and space is limited. Story Space: A hands-on book club for kids, Saturday, Sept. 20 at 2 p.m. “How Benjamin Franklin Stole the Lightning” by Robin Schanzer, combined with science experiments. This book club is for school-age children and is suitable for all reading levels. Register in the Children's Department.
Family Place: Registration is open for the Fall 2014 session. This four-week playgroup runs Thursdays, Oct. 9, 16, 23 and 30 from 10:15-11:30 a.m. For children ages 1-3 and a caregiver. The workshop features toys, crafts, books and play. Space is limited and registration is required.

Book group: The Morning Book Discussion Group will meet Thursday, Sept. 4, 10 a.m., at Ellen Aftamonow Woodmont Library. The book for September is Tolstay and the Purple Chair, by Nina Sankovitch. The book for October is, Under the Wide and Starry Sky, by Nancy Horan.
