HARTFORD — Mental Health Connecticut is hosting an exhibit called “Mending Art” at Artspace Hartford, and there’s a Friday afternoon session with some of the artists this week.

The exhibit opened last week, bringing together 60 artists from Mental Health Connecticut’s Independence Center (members and staff) and 40-plus artists from across the state, including members of the statewide Veteran’s Art Foundation and St. Vincent DePaul Mission of Waterbury. Each unique work explores the artist’s connection to health and well-being through art, according to the Artspace Facebook page.

Art Director Amy Smith spends hours with veterans, children with ADD and many others, working to help them find their way back to being healthy and well through art.

The 1-4 p.m. session will be at the Artspace Hartford Gallery, 555 Asylum Ave.
