The 42nd Meet the Artists and Artisans show will take place Aug. 1 and 2 in Mystic.
The show is organized by Milford resident Denise Morris Curt.
It takes place on the green, across from I-95, Seaport Exit 90N, at the Olde Mistick Village Orchard.
Free admission and parking. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Rain or shine.
Fine artists paint on site with a great variety of original work only: Up beat contemporary, flamboyant, expressionistic styles. There is fauna, flora, aquatic caricatures, pet portraits, impressionistic landscapes, coastal scenes of the U.S. using acrylics, watercolors, pastels, oils, collage and more.
There will be a wide collection of artistic endeavors from Renaissance silenced violins and cellos to modern day abstracts, etchings, monotypes, and oversized sculpted canvases.
Wooden carved shorebirds appear from blocks of wood. Clay table ware is turned on the wheel, and white porcelain is sculpted into functional and decorative art objects. Five jewelers solder, weld and weave sterling. An antique printing press produces journals and books.
Photographers show underwater sea life, Amazon rain forest- amphibians and insects, creative-dramatic scenes, architecture and quiet refuges. There will also be artistic wooden ware, stone vessels, etched slate and metal sculptures.
