Mayor, school superintendent, issue call to action to honor King's legacy
Mayor Benjamin Blake and Supt. of Schools Dr. Elizabeth Feser will be at City Hall on Thursday, Jan. 15, at 10:30 a.m. to kick off a call to action in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King's legacy.
Blake and Feser will be encouraging all Milford residents and students to participate in one of the many community service organizations in Milford or volunteer for a community-building cause.
In a prepared statement, city officials said, “Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. said it best. Everybody can be great because anybody can serve. You don't have to have a college degree to serve. You don't have to make your subject and verb agree to serve. You only need a heart full of grace. A soul generated by love.”
