Marianne Laska of Milford recently received the Vincentian Award from St. Vincent’s College for her service as a board member for the past nine years, the last four as chairperson.
The award was presented by St. Vincent’s College President Martha K. Shouldis as part of the school’s commencement ceremonies held at the Mertens Theatre in the Arnold Bernhard Arts & Humanities Center, at the University of Bridgeport.
After immigrating to America, Laska met a portion of her requirements for licensure as a registered nurse in the U.S. at St. Vincent’s College. She retired from St. Vincent’s Medical Center after more than 20 years of service.
Since then she has devoted her time and talents to serving the greater Bridgeport community, most notably service to St. Vincent’s College, St. Vincent’s Parish Nurse Program and the Greater Bridgeport Symphony.
