Manu’iwa Outrigger hosts outrigger canoe open house

Manu’iwa Outrigger, Milford’s own and Connecticut’s only Outrigger Canoe Club, will have an open house June 27, from noon to 2 p.m. at Gulf Beach.
Everyone is welcome.
Manu’iwa has relocated its boathouse to Gulf Beach. After 20 years and many championships, Manu’iwa Outrigger Canoe Club will begin its 21st season from the shores of Gulf Beach, thanks to a newly reinvigorated relationship with the City of Milford.
Manu’iwa Outrigger Canoe Club is always looking to grow membership. Fees are $150 for the entire season and include training sessions, coaching, race invitations, and access to the club boats.
Manui’wa is an active member of the East Coast Outrigger Canoe Association, and participates in races up and down the East Coast from Toronto to Virginia. Racing season runs from April to October. Manu’iwa hosts two races from Gulf Beach each season.
