'Making It Happen' on first day at Amity High

Freshmen had orientation to the school with the help of junior and senior guides. The program had notable Amity graduates share stories of their experiences. The graduates included actor, comedian, writer Nic Novicki, class of 2001; Army Capt. Kristen Griest, class of 2007, a West Point graduate and one of the first two women ever to graduate from the Army’s elite Ranger School and the country’s first female Army infantry officer; and Leslie Barrett, class of 2010, co-founder of BARE — Beauty Advocates with Realistic Expectations, who became an activist after she was diagnosed with Bell’s palsy.

Nic Novicki spoke to Amity Regional High School students during a program designed to build community, school morale and inspiration using the slogan “Making It Happen” on the first day of school Aug. 29.
