MILFORD >> MAC Fest is set for 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 17 on the Green, followed by a free concert 4-7 p.m. by DynaMojo and The Elwoods.

The Milford Arts Council invites the community to “Be a Part of Art” with juried hand-crafted, original fine art/artisan vendors, food, arts activities, pop-up workshops and lessons in art, dance and movement offered by MAC instructors, artists and business owners; sidewalk chalk contest; plein air painting, teen flash mob, and one-act plays.

Some programs will held at the Center for the Arts, 40 Railroad Ave. S.

Rich Marazzi kicks off new year for society

MILFORD >> Rich Marazzi, the author of “A Bowl Full of Memories: 100 Years of Football at the Yale Bowl,” will speak at the Milford Historical Society meeting Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. at Mary Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church, 168 Broad St.

Marazzi will tell stories of Yale football beginning in 1872 and talk about Yale Bowl that was 100 years old in 2014.

Marazzi has seen almost every game at the Bowl for 50 years and will talk about Yale football Coach Walter Camp, and one of the oldest rivalries in college sport: the annual Yale-Harvard game.

Marazzi, of Ansonia, for 17 years had a radio talk show titled, “Inside Yankee Baseball.”

The program is free; donations are accepted.

A brochure and membership form can be mailed by writing the society at P.O. Box 377, Milford 06460. Annual dues are $5 for students, $20 for individuals and $40 for families.

LiVE @ the MAC presents Marc Berger

MILFORD >> LiVE @ the MAC starts the season at 8 p.m. Sept. 23 with Marc Berger and Band.

Berger’s song “The Last One” was long a staple of Richie Havens’ concerts.

Tickets are $15 for MAC members and $20 for nonmembers. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. Snacks, beer and wine will be sold. Coffee is free.
