Lyme disease program planned at Library for June 10

In 2014 there were 1,705 confirmed cases of Lyme disease in Connecticut. Its prevalence in the state has led to many researchers working on a cure or a vaccine.
The Lyme Disease Research Group at the University of New Haven, led by Dr. Eva Sapi, has focused on studying the bacterium's ability to hide from the immune system, as well as from antimicrobial therapies.
The group will lead a seminar Wednesday, June 10 at 2 p.m. at the Milford Public Library, free.
