This year marks the 20 year anniversary of Looks Hair Design and the tenth year of The American Heart Association’s annual Go Red For Women campaign.
For salon owners/stylists Diana and Mark Sullivan, this was a clear calling to celebrate two decades of making a difference in peoples’ lives by donating a portion of their proceeds to the Go Red For Women cause.
Two years ago, the Sullivans experienced a devastating loss when their salon burned to the ground.
“Fortunately no one was injured,” the couple said in a written statement. “We were heartened by how people came forth – even our competitors – and helped us get back on our feet. We had heard downtown Milford referred to as the ‘heartbeat of Milford,’ so we eventually found a new downtown location where we happily continue to provide our services.”
According to the Go Red For Women, “Heart Disease is the Number 1 killer of women in the United States, claiming more lives than any forms of cancer combined.”
The National Wear Red Day is designed to raise awareness in the fight against heart disease in women, and Looks plans to raise awareness in the Milford area.
Looks Hair Design invites guests to visit their salon at 122 South Broad Street. Ten percent of proceeds from services to new clients wearing red on Thursday, Feb. 6, and Friday, Feb. 7 — then every Monday and Tuesday to the end of February — will be donated to the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women campaign.
A discount for future services will be included – some restrictions apply. Salon services include cuts, styling, color, perms, hair extensions, waxing, and more for individuals, groups and wedding parties.
