Local man pleads guilty to receiving child pornography

A local man pleaded guilty on Tuesday to one count of receipt of child pornography. Rolan Sosa, 36 of Milford was arrested at his home on Dec. 15, 2011, and according to the District Attorney’s Office, law enforcement agents seized his laptop at the time of his arrest.

Subsequent analysis of the computer revealed that Sosa had collected 110 images and 134 video files of child pornography on his computer. The investigation also revealed that Sosa distributed child pornography through the use of an online file sharing program.
Sosa, who has been in custody since his arrest, will appear in court on Jan. 3, 2013 for sentencing. He faces a mandatory minimum five years of imprisonment and a maximum of 20 years. He also faces a fine of up to $250,000.
The case was investigated by the FBI and the state Computer Crimes Task Force, which includes federal, state and local law enforcement.
