Lobster Bake July 22 raises money for local causes
The 41st annual Milford Rotary Lobster Bake is set for 3:30-7:30 p.m., Saturday, July 22, at Milford Boat Works, 1 High St., Milford, rain or shine. A raffle and commemorative T-shirt sale will be featured.
“The Lobster Bake has become a Milford tradition,” said Lobster Bake Chairman Robert Bogert. “Over the years, we have raised almost a million dollars and cracked over 80,000 lobsters for the scholarships we have given out to the college bound students from Milford. And we have a lot of fun doing it. The Lobster Bake lets the community see how much fun we have while putting service above self.”
Milford Rotarians and their volunteer helpers will serve each guest either two 1.5 pound lobsters or a juicy steak and corn on the cob, cole slaw and all the trimmings including wine, beer and soda. Proof of age is required.
Tickets at $45 each can be purchased at Milford Bank on Broad Street and Milford Photo. Tickets for children are also available for $5, which includes a hot dog and an ear of corn. No tickets will be sold at the door. Proceeds benefit Milford Rotary charitable endeavors.
