Linda Michel named August employee of the month

Linda Michel, administrative assistant in the mayor’s office, is the Mayor’s Employee of the Month in Milford for August.

City officials said that after a review of all of the nominations, the selection committee unanimously chose her as the winner for her dedicated service to the city, professional and positive attitude and her ability to calmly handle all the various situations she is faced with on a daily basis.

Michel began her career with the City of Milford on Dec. 21, 1989, and she has always worked in the Office of the Mayor. Initially hired as a secretary, Michel was ultimately promoted to her current position of administrative assistant.

“Linda has remained steadfast through three mayoral administrations,” according to a press release about the award. “She is intimately familiar with each city department, having worked in the hub of the city

for over 25 years.”

Michel attends to each task she performs with precision and professionalism, her co-workers said. She eagerly responds to all requests from residents and co-workers. No job is too small or too big for her to tackle.

“Linda’s ability to accommodate, even when it is not easy to do so, is a testament to the reverence she holds for the Office of the Mayor,” officials said. “Her personal pride in her work is evident on a daily basis.”

Michel can be counted on to deal with each situation with grace, diplomacy and, very often, humor, the city press release states. “Her healthy perspective on what is truly important is inspirational.”
