CHILDREN’S

The children’s department at Milford Public Library, 57 New Haven Ave., is holding events the next few weeks. For information call: 203-783-3304.

Story time: Mondays and Tuesdays at 10 a.m. come to the library and enjoy stories, a craft and new friends. For ages 3 and up with a caregiver.

Mondays storytimes are provided in part by Great Beginnings Preschool.

Toddler Time: Wednesdays at 10 and 11 a.m. Fingerplays, songs and stories. For ages 2 and under with a caregiver.

Visit the Library: National Take Your Child to the Library Day is Saturday, Feb. 11.

Feb. 11, Sparky’s Puppets presents Stories for Snowy Lands at 11 a.m. Find out what happens when a boastful bear goes ice fishing. Visit a shoemaker's shop on a winter's day when a mysterious visitor comes to call.

Feb. 11, Little Scientists at 2 p.m. for ages 6 and up. Ever wonder “Why is It Cold Outside?” Hands-on look at the science of chilly weather. Registration required. Space is limited.

Book discussion: The Ellen Aftamonow Woodmont Library, 16 Dixon St., will host its Morning Book Discussion Group, Thursday, Feb. 6, at 10 a.m. The book to be reviewed is, “The Orphan Masters Son,” by Adam Johnson.

The book for March is “Broken for You,” by Stephanie Karios.
