Letters: Trump election, liberals, Rep. Rose
The election of Donald Trump as president was the “hail Mary pass” that saved our country. His election was the result of millions of voters disgusted with the current state of our nation and its failed leadership.
Our country has been burdened with failure on many fronts, including an anemic economy, disastrous foreign policy, nonexistent immigration policy and an incomprehensible national debt, and the list goes on.
I understand how people have concerns with Trump, but it’s difficult to comprehend how so many millions cast their vote for corrupt, dishonest and self-serving Hillary Clinton.
If elected, she would have taken the county on the same disastrous path. She would have placed her financial self-interests above the nation’s interests. Whenever she spoke as president there would be suspicion she was lying because lying has been her standard. A Clinton presidency would have brought our country to the brink of disaster, if not totally over the cliff.
I feel a great sense of relief and optimism for my children, grandchildren and the next generation of Americans that the potential disastrous course of our nation will now be righted.
In Connecticut, it is gratifying to see gains made by the Republican Party, especially in the state Senate. Praise to the Connecticut Business and Industry Association for its bold initiative to financially support a number of Republican candidates.
It is difficult to comprehend how so many in Connecticut continue to vote Democratic Party candidates that constantly promote tax-and-spend agendas and anti-business policies that have made Connecticut a financial house of cards. Our state is at or near bottom for almost all measures of merit versus all other states. I can only hope that this is the beginning of the shift to full Republican control in Connecticut.

The Forum article “Run for your life, the Fifth Horseman has been let loose” by Mike McCleery of Branford is extremely disturbing.
If there was ever an individual whose mind has been distorted by the liberal faction of our society, by the mass media and universities, he is the one. His mind fits the expression “lack of depth in thinking.” He is dangerous to the welfare of the United States in that he does not have a clue as to the economic condition of our country promoted by those who promote globalization. If he had depth to his thinking he would appreciate what it takes to do in business what Donald Trump has accomplished.
Numerous congressmen who were attacking Trump probably never built a dog house in their life. His knowledge of women is very limited. The poor souls are crying foul play when there is an exhibition of their bodies every day and evening on the TV for the world to view. Much could be said about McCleery’s comments, but this paper only gives space to the liberals promoting his ideas that have been devastating to the nation. If one does not think that liberalism is changing our country, he is brain dead. McCleery’s mind cannot comprehend corruption when presented to it for a period of years. I say to those that have read his article: Beware of his whereabouts and his comments, they are dangerous to your well-being and to our society. Forget about running anywhere, stay put and begin thinking for yourself.
