“Paugussett Villages and Recent Archaeological Discoveries” is the title of the next program at the Milford Historical Society on Monday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. at the Mary Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church, 168 Broad Street. The public is invited.
Tim Chaucer, director of the Milford Marine Institute, will tell about archaeological finds in the Gulf Pond area where the institute has been conducting scientific digs since 1983. Among the items he will bring are a serpentine platform pipe found in the 1980s, a full grooved axe found in 2011 and a lithic grease lamp found in 2014. He will also bring a map showing the locations of Paugussett villages.
