MILFORD >> Connecticut’s Kid Governor Jessica Brocksom of Milford will continue her Summer Library Circuit to promote her Helping Animals, Those Without a Voice platform, at 11 a.m. July 25 at the Milford Public Library, 57 New Haven Ave.
Jessica will talk of ways in which the public can support tougher animal protection laws, promote collection drives for local pounds and shelters, and create an educational presentation that will be shown in schools across Connecticut.
The program will be broadcast live on the Connecticut’s Kid Governor Facebook page.
This summer Jessica was in a Milford media briefing with local officials and state leaders where a new “Heat Kills” initiative was announced. The program helps to educate the community on the dangers of leaving animals in parked cars during the warm months. She met in Washington, D.C., with U.S. Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy, U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro, all D-Conn., and the staffs from the Humane Society of the U.S. & the Humane Society Legislative Fund to discuss federal legislation regarding animal protection.
Previously, she held events at Hartford Public Library and Russell Library in Middletown.
