Jill Piscetelli Ferraiolo

Jill Piscetelli Ferraiolo passed away in the comfort of her family on December 17 after a courageous battle with cancer. She resided near the beach in Milford.

Jill served in many high level positions in state government. She worked for both the State Comptroller and Treasurer and represented each of the constitutional officers on state oversight boards responsible for improving the fiscal efficiencies of distressed cities and towns. She also worked for the General Assembly’s Office of Fiscal Analysis and most recently directed state and federal government relations for the Connecticut State University System.

Jill was loved and respected by all of her colleagues in state government. Jill earned her Bachelors and Masters Degrees from UConn. She was active in local Democratic Town Committees and was elected to local board and commissions when she previously resided in Cromwell and Orange. She worked collaboratively with local officials on a number of construction projects in the Amity School District.

Jill’s passion was caring for her children. The pride she took in their many academic and athletic accomplishments is unsurpassed. A dedicated runner and fitness advocate, Jill could be seen every morning on her treks through town. She loved the beach, music, and traveling back to her hometown for weekend visits with her family.

Jill is survived by her beloved fiancée’, Thomas P. Gaffey of Meriden, her daughters Jacqui and Jessica Ferraiolo, and son Joseph Ferraiolo from Orange. She is also survived by her father Frank Piscetelli from Wilmington, North Carolina, and was predeceased by her mother, Jacqueline Piscetelli. Jill is also survived by her brother Frank Piscetelli, and sister Susan Bennet and brother-in-law Thomas Bennet from Westbury, New York, along with nephews Andrew Bennet and Michael Piscetelli. She is also survived by Elizabeth and Colleen Gaffey of Meriden whom she loved as if they were her own and many aunt, uncles and cousins.

Friends may call Friday December 21, 2012 at the Smith & Sefcik Funeral Home 135 N. Broad St. Milford from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday at 10:00 am DIRECTLY in Holy Infant Church, 450 Racebrook Rd. Orange, CT. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery Milford.
