The Department of Housing has begun to plan the ramp down of the state intake centers set up to help people impacted by Hurricane Sandy maneuver the funding application process.
Intake Centers are now open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and closed on Saturdays.
Milford’s intake center will shut down after the end of the day Feb. 28. The Fairfield Intake Center will remain open.
Applicants who are elderly or disabled and cannot make it to Fairfield will still have access to Mobile Units. They can schedule a mobile unit appointment by calling 866-272-1976.
“I encourage all residents affected by Storm Sandy, who have not done so already, to make an appointment with the Intake Office and begin the process for help in the mitigation or reconstruction of their home,” said Mayor Ben Blake.
