Janet Mizak and Nancy Eisler, who work at the Milford Health Department, have been recognized as this month’s Mayor’s Employee of the Month “for continually going above and beyond to ensure that the Milford Health Department staff are supported from a clerical perspective.”

Over the last several months the Milford Health Department has gone through transitions and has a vacancy in the clerical team, city officials said in a press release about Mizak and Eisler. The two women “have consistently performed well and stepped in to fill the gaps,” the press release states.

Eisler began her employment with the City of Milford on April 25, 2005, and has been with the health department since October of 2006.

Mizak’s employment with the city began on Oct. 28, 2009, and in July of 2011 she transferred to the health department.

“The Milford Health Department plays a central role in providing essential public health services in the community,” city officials said. “The health department works every day to ensure the safety of the water we drink, the food we eat and the air we breathe. The health department is an efficient organization with a far reaching mission. Nancy and Janet have proven to be integral to the efficient operation of the department.”

“Nancy and Janet go above and beyond in their efforts to support the health department staff,” according to the mayor’s press release. “Their ability to proficiently multitask and willingness to fill in wherever needed are significant attributes that they possess. Their positive attitude, excellent team spirit and commitment to serving the public are unparalleled.”
