WOODBRIDGE >> The Woodbridge Rotary Club recently honored Haley Forcier as February Student of the Month from Amity High School.

She was presented with a certificate of recognition by Rotarian Guy Stella.

Haley Forcier, 17, is an inquisitive, articulate and internally motivated student who found great success at Amity.

She is the daughter of Lynn and Charles Forcier.

She is in the Top 5 percent of her senior class and a leader among her peers. She was selected as a member of the National Honor Society and the National Spanish Honor Society and has received a variety of awards, including a Book Award.

She has been involved in the music program, performing in concerts, and in the jazz band. She is a member of the student government, where she participates in fundraising, planning and working on school climate.

She has also been selected to be a Link Crew leader for two years, helping to run freshman orientation and serve as an adviser to ninth-graders.

She played lacrosse for two years and field hockey for four, this year stepping into the captain’s position.

She uses her organizational skills as co-president of Keynotes, which goes into the community to sing for others such as the geriatric community and homeless shelters.

Her love of people is displayed across a variety of fields such as working at a local day camp as a counselor and volunteering with many organizations, such as Habitat for Humanity.

She is a leader, an analytical and invested learner, and a strong member of the Amity community.
