HAN, Silver Hill Hospital team up for Pain Awareness Month
The HAN Network and Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan are teaming up, throughout the month of September, for National Pain Awareness Month.
Roughly 100 million Americans suffer from chronic pain — pain that lasts longer than six months — more than diabetes, heart disease and cancer combined.
Throughout this month, HAN broadcasting will feature exclusive interviews with the experts at Silver Hill Hospital’s Chronic Pain and Recovery Center. Each interview will tackle a different topic around chronic pain.
“It’s critical that each patient dealing with chronic pain becomes a well-informed consumer of effective and high quality treatment approaches to address all of their complex issues,” said Dr. Chris Cutter, Program Director for the Chronic Pain and Recovery Center at Silver Hill Hospital. “It has become clear that pain pills alone are not an effective long-term treatment. We are pleased to partner with the HAN Network to bring attention to this epidemic, as chronic pain is a very complicated and subjective topic that affects approximately 100 million Americans.”
Silver Hill Hospital and HAN had a similar partnership during Mental Health Awareness Month in May 2016. Each interview will play on HAN.Network website and be streamed out over our news websites.
The Pain Awareness Month schedule includes:
- Tuesday, Sept. 6 on Coffee Break at 11: Chronic Pain and Depression with Dr. Chris Cutter.
- Monday, Sept. 12 on Coffee Break at 11: Use and Misuse of Opiates with Dr. Seddon Savage.
- Monday, Sept. 19 on Coffee Break at 11: Tips for Managing Chronic Pain with Dr. Dorothy Mueller
- Monday, Sept. 26 on Coffee Break at 11: Interventions for Chronic Pain with Dr. Chris Cutter.
