Fundraiser brings in more than $24k for Milford homeless shelter
The 7th Annual Milford Trick or Trot 5K Run/Walk raised $24,545 through 300 participants for Beth-El Center homeless shelter and soup kitchen, shelter officials said in a press release.
The check was presented just after Christmas to Beth-El Center Executive Director, Jennifer Paradis, by event organizers and major sponsors Harlow, Adams & Friedman LLC and Sikorsky Credit Union.
The donation will directly support Beth-El Center's shelter, case management services and soup kitchen, shelter officials said.
Need remains high at the center since cases are more complex than ever and federal and state funding cuts have taken a toll, shelter officials have said.
The Trick or Trot event is one of the shelter’s major annual fundraisers, along with a spring gala.
The shelter serves single individuals and families.
