The Milford Fire Department held a mass casualty response drill on Friday morning at Wasson Field.

The drill started around 8 a.m. It was a modified drill, not a full-scale exercise as others have been in the past.

The city's lifeguards acted as casualties in the mock drill, prior to hitting the city beaches for the start of their shifts at 11 a.m.

Emergency personnel practiced assessing and organizing victims of a large-scale event. They triaged the lifeguards, who in the exercise had been labeled with different levels of injuries, moving the "less injured" to a separate spot on the field and taking those portraying seriously injured casualties to awaiting ambulances.
