FBI film on opioid addiction to be followed by forum
MILFORD >> A free public screening of the FBI documentary “Chasing the Dragon: The Life of an Opioid Addict” will be presented Oct. 27.
A discussion after the showing will be moderated by Charles Grady, FBI community outreach specialist and media liaison, with local medical specialists participating.
The event will be held 6-8 p.m. in the Parsons Government Center Veterans Memorial Auditorium, West Main Street.
It is being presented by the Kiwanis Club and Milford Prevention Council to help raise awareness of the problem.
“Chasing the Dragon” is a 45-minute film that examines prescription drug and opioid abuse from first-person accounts by addicts and their family members.
The film contains strong language and graphic images. Viewing age of 18 and older is recommended and viewer discretion is advised.
The program is designed to help families and the community have open and honest communication about addiction and be better prepared to avoid becoming a victim.
