Eating disorder awareness, building better body image
Watch The Drive with Denise DiGrigoli live Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m. Or watch it on-demand later.
This week Denise welcomes Lisa Colvin, a licensed professional counselor who works with The Renfrew Center of Connecticut, based in Old Greenwich. (Click on video above to watch the show).
Lisa and Denise talk about signs and symptoms and how we can help loved ones struggling with eating disorders. They also focus on children and behaviors we should all notice — including how ways we talk about ourselves can shape our children's self esteem.
The Renfrew Center has been a pioneer in the treatment of eating disorders since 1985. As the nation’s first residential eating disorder facility, now with 16 locations throughout the country, Renfrew has helped more than 65,000 adolescent girls and women with eating disorders and other behavioral health issues.
Denise also shares her tips for slowing down this season and spending some much needed time talking care of yourself and enjoying family.
The Drive with Denise is a show about fueling our mind, bodies and spirit. This is a show that will leave you thinking, if I don’t try a lane change, who will do it for me?
