Dunkin' Donuts aims to donate about 425 turkeys

Local Dunkin’ Donuts Franchisees D’Andrea Group, with 13 stores in Milford, West Haven, Orange, Guilford, Clinton, Killingworth and Stratford have committed to donating at least 4,675 pounds of turkey — about 425 turkeys — to food pantries in the communities they serve to help provide holiday dinners to as many residents as possible.

For every turkey donut purchased for $1 at participating restaurants starting Nov. 13, the D’Andrea Group Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees will donate one pound of turkey. Every dozen sold ($12), will provide an entire turkey.

D’Andrea Group will be spreading the donation across the towns they serve with a goal to donate 140 birds to Clinton residents via the Shoreline Soup Kitchens, 50 birds to Orange residents via Orange Community Services, 100 birds for Milford residents via the Milford Boy Scouts, 100 turkeys for West Haven residents via St. Paul’s Food Pantry and the Connecticut Food Bank. The remainder will be divided up between Guilford and Killingworth based on community needs.
