The driver of a car that collided with a train at the Oronoque Road crossing in Milford today was issued a summons for traveling too fast for road conditions.
Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Spokesman Aaron Donovan said no one was injured in the accident, which happened around 1 p.m.
The train involved was one that left Waterbury at 12:08 p.m. and was due in Bridgeport at 1:03 p.m. Donovan said the train was delayed about an hour.
“I don’t have a lot of details as to why the car was where it shouldn’t have been,” Donovan said, adding that the MTA was still investigating.
The front of the 2008 Lexus involved in the accident was damaged, and the car had to be towed from the scene.
Only the driver was in the car, but Donovan did not have his name.
