Driver in February accident that killed two pedestrians charged with manslaughter
Milford police have made an arrest in connection with a February car accident that killed two Milford pedestrians.
Police announced Saturday night that James Dorso II, 31, of Bridgeport Avenue has been arrested and charged with reckless driving and manslaughter in the second degree.
Dorso voluntarily turned himself into police May 4. He was released from police custody on $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in Milford May 28.
The accident occurred Feb. 11 at 11:19 a.m. at a time when heavy snow blanketed city streets and sidewalks. Four people walking on Bridgeport Avenue near Cowles Street had been hit by a vehicle — two of them later died, Kevin Tanski, 53, and his wife, Brenda Tanski, 51.
Of the other two pedestrians, who are members of the Tanski family, one received minor injuries and the other was not hurt.
