The Amity community is lucky to have a plethoria of residents who give of their own time in the interest of volunteerism. Many residents serve on the various boards and commissions that comprise town government.

Others, such as Dr, Kimberly McClure take their volunteerism to a higher level. While McClure is active in town government serving on Bethany's Inland Wetlands Commission, her commitment to her faith and all creatures great and small is inspiring on any given day. But she isn't satisified and can routinely be found volunteering where few would go. In 2004 she went to Bolivia for two weeks to help educate those less fortunate on how to better care for bovines. In 2005 she went to the Gulf Coast to aide during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. And now, in 2006 she is headed to Brazil to educate and pray with South Americans in the hopes of helping them learn how to increase milk producation in goats and cows. While on this mission McClure wil try to update residents via the Bulletin's Web site. Check www.orangebulletin.com.

McClure is an inspiration to all of us on how to be a good citizen. If we would only follow her example our own lives might be richer.
