Dr. Feser's contract extended, salary increased 2.5%

The Milford Board of Education this week extended School Supt. Dr. Elizabeth Feser’s contract through 2017.

Dr. Feser has the standard three year contract, which is typically extended annually for one year, explained Board Chairman Susan Glennon.

On Monday the board unanimously approved a one year extension of Dr. Feser’s contract, which now runs July 1, 2014 through June 30th 2017.

In addition, the Board unanimously approved a 2.5% salary increase. Her annual salary will increase from $189,653 to $194,394. She will continue to receive a $15,000 annuity and will continue to pay 20% of her health insurance premium.

“Dr. Feser’s continued dedication to the children of Milford is evident from her tireless work ethic and her high degree of professionalism,” Glennon said. “Her commitment to the city of Milford is well documented by her level of involvement in our community as a whole. While we all agree there is still much work to be done, the board is encouraged by the steps taken since Dr. Feser’s arrival in 2011 to improve the instructional environment in our schools and, with special regard to the past year, we are most impressed with the way she handled the difficult events surrounding the death of Maren Sanchez.”

A statement from the board said its members are confident the school district will continue to move forward under Dr. Feser’s leadership.
