The Southern Connecticut Diamond Club inducted six new members into its Hall of Fame in a ceremony at Monticello’s Restaurant in Wallingford in November.

Pictured (from left to right) are this year’s inductees: nationally known sportscaster George Grande, former Hamden High and University of Maine all-star Ken Perrone, umpire Rich Altieri who received the Andy Gassira umpiring award, former Notre Dame and Providence star Ed Lewis, former West Haven High and Providence College star Warren Howe, and Frank Mentone, who received the first Anthony Mentone Award and is shown with Rose Mentone.

Since 1980 the Diamond Club has inducted 80 players, including many local major league players.

The club also gives out scholarships and gives clinics to high school players and coaches.
