DCF called after man allegedly tries to choke woman holding infant

A Milford man was arrested July 8 on a number of charges after reportedly trying to strangle his companion while she was holding an infant.

David Weston, 28, of 185 West Main Street, hit his companion during a domestic incident at his residence at 8:40 a.m., and then pushed her and restrained her by the neck, police said.

The victim suffered minor injuries and the child was unharmed.

The Department of Children and Families was notified of the incident.

Weston was charged with strangulation in the third degree, disorderly conduct, risk of injury to a child and assault.

Bond was set at $10,000 and he was scheduled for court that day.
