Country fair will run 3 days
ORANGE >> The annual Orange Country Fair will run Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Sept. 15-17, at the Orange Fairgrounds, 525 Orange Center Road.
The family event will be held rain or shine and will include music, animals, games, rides, magic, contests, food and demonstrations.
EVENTS SATURDAY, SUNDAY
Saturday and Sunday events and attractions will include pig races, a toddler driving contest, a farm museum, a 10-question contest for kids, some amusement rides, a Garden Club demonstration at 2 p.m.
Wingmasters will present a program with live birds of prey, from a saw-whet owl to some of area’s largest raptors, at 11 a.m., noon, 1 and 2 p.m.
There will also be a garden tractor pull, a two-person handsaw contest, homing pigeon release, oxen draws and a lumberjack show.
And the Magic of Adam, Justin Woods Circus, men’s hay bale toss, K-9 demonstration, the Magic of Christopher, and children’s entertainment.
ENTRY, HOURS, EVENTS
• Sept. 15: 6 p.m., truck pull until finish, free entry Friday only, free parking.
• Sept. 16: 8 a.m.-7 p.m., $8 adults, $5 senior citizens, children 15 and under free, active military $5 with ID; free parking, free shuttle.
The opening ceremony will be held at 10 a.m.
Headliners: Shari Puorto Band 1:30-4:30 p.m.; Jeremy Lichter Trio 5-7 p.m.
• Sept. 17: 8 a.m.-6 p.m., $8 adults, $5 senior citizens, children 15 and under free, active military $5 with ID; free parking, free shuttle.
Headliners: Freeplay, 2-6 p.m. featuring Jim Pino Jr., Joey Pods & the Langley Bros.
Exhibits will be removed at 6 p.m. Sunday.
Chip’s pancake breakfast kicks off at 8 a.m. both days.
Other items on the fair’s two-day menu include sandwiches, funnel cakes, fried dough, clam chowder, chili, hot dogs, burgers, deli sandwiches, hot roast beef au jus on hard roll, Philly cheese steak sub, Longhini chicken sausage, pepper sub, grilled chicken, fries, onion rings and chicken nuggets.
Also, lollipop lamb chops, pulled pork barbecue on a roll, corn on the cob.
ATMs will be at the main food area and at the satellite food tent; no pets, no alcohol.
