Connecticut Sports Talk: Nov. 10

On this edition of Nutmeg Sports, Rob Adams and Donald Eng review each of the state playoff brackets.

Beginning with girls soccer, the guys go over the Monday scores, including several big wins for the FCIAC. New Canaan, for instance, needed penalty kicks in their game with Amity. Next up, they discuss boys soccer, as the tournament gets underway. Greenwich and Fairfield Ludlowe is an all-FCIAC matchup of note.

Volleyball is next on the breakdown. What does the future hold for Darien after their FCIAC Championship loss to Fairfield Ludlowe? Will the Falcons feel any form of carryover?

Field hockey and football are also on the minds of Rob and Don. Specifically, a quick glance at the field hockey brackets reveals a potential Darien/Wilton FCIAC championship game rematch in the second round of Class L. In football, Rob reminds all that the HAN Network will be at Darien High School on Saturday as the Blue Wave host the Staples Wreckers. A date in the FCIAC championship game is on the line.

The HAN Network, formerly known as Hersam Acorn Newspapers, is the exclusive FCIAC broadcast partner through the spring of 2018. HAN Network’s broadcasting division replaces with a new focus on live video streams of high school athletics along with the Network’s news and lifestyle programming.
