Connecticut Sports Talk, June 6

A new week pulls us into the state semifinals and finals, and Rob and Don are ready to break it all down.

To open the show, the guys review the HAN Networks' most-recent broadcast, as Greenwich topped Ridgefield in overtime of the Class L girls lacrosse quarterfinals. We then look at all of the brackets to see who has the most realistic chances.

Rob and Don also announce that the Network has girls lacrosse action tomorrow, as Greenwich meets Fairfield Warde at 5 p.m., and Wilton takes on Darien at 7 p.m. Both of those games will be in Hi Definition on the HAN Network, with Rob and Dan Arestia on the call.

As a side note, on Wednesday, we'll also have the boys semifinals, with New Milford and Daniel Hand playing at 5 p.m., and Ridgefield going up against Darien at 7 p.m. Rob and Frank Granito will have the play-by-play for those games.

Baseball and softball also get the full bracket breakdown. Fairfield Warde is the last FCIAC rep for baseball, while St. Joseph is the lone rep in softball. Can both teams win the title?

Finally, it's time to review the winners and announce the nominees for the HAN Network/FCIAC Athletes of the Week. Make sure to vote.

The HAN Network, formerly known as Hersam Acorn Newspapers, is the exclusive FCIAC broadcast partner through the spring of 2018. HAN Network’s broadcasting division replaced with a new focus on live video streams of high school athletics along with the Network’s news and lifestyle programming.
