Connecticut Sports Talk, August 10

Nutmeg Sports, HAN's Connecticut sport show, airs Monday-Wednesday at 2 pm on HAN.Network, hosted by Frank Granito, Donald Eng and various HAN sports editors.

On the Wednesday, August 10, episode of Nutmeg Sports Frank is joined by New Canaan Advertiser Sports Editor Dave Stewart to break down Ethan Burger's season ending injury, the local FCIAC athletes competing at the Olympics, and all-star baseball teams still playing.

Frank and Dave start the show talking about Staples senior running back Ethan Burger's season ending leg injury. Burger, who missed half of last season after tearing his ACL and suffering other serious leg injuries, was told by his doctor that he would not be available until the end of September and would be better off sitting out the whole season. Ethan is verbally committed to play lacrosse at the University of Vermont, and hopes to return by the spring to play his senior season at Staples.

Frank and Dave break down the impact not only on the Wreckers team for this upcoming season, but also on the rest of the FCIAC teams and how it will shape the race for the best conference record.

Next Dave gives an update on the FCIAC Olympians who are competing in water polo and the rowing events.

Finally Frank and Dave give an update on the Fairfield American Little League team playing in Bristol, CT in the Little League New England Regional Tournament. Along with the Norwalk 10 year old all-star team who advanced to the elimination bracket of the Cal Ripken World Series in Palm Beach Garden, Florida.

Dave also offers his opinion on what his favorite games from the HAN Network Fall Broadcast schedule will be.
