Connecticut Sports Talk, April 27
Rob Adams welcomes Mike Sportini, known as "Laxworm," to the Wednesday edition of the show. Mr. Sportini, well-known for his overwhelming knowledge of lacrosse around the Connecticut area (and beyond), breaks down the upcoming showdown between nationally ranked Darien and New Canaan.
That game will air Saturday at 1 p.m. on the HAN Network in high definition, with Rob Adams, Frank Granito, and Just Gallanty on the call. A special pregame show will come along at 11:30 a.m., live from Darien High School.
Laxworm explains how he got his nickname, his involvement with high school and national lacrosse, along with starting his own website, and much more. Rob also puts him on the spot for a prediction, and gets one.
Highlights from Tuesday's Staples/New Canaan boys lacrosse game are included in this edition of Nutmeg Sports. Rob, Frank, and Justin called a spirited effort by the Wreckers to spoil the undefeated game between the Rams and Blue Wave.
With softball, baseball, plus golf, volleyball, track and field and of course, lacrosse, we are turning towards May and the playoffs.
To finish the show, Rob revisits the FCIAC tour and his conversation with the Darien girls lacrosse team. The Blue Wave play Manahasset High School at 4 p.m. in another cross-Long Island Sound lacrosse matchup.
The HAN Network, formerly known as Hersam Acorn Newspapers, is the exclusive FCIAC broadcast partner through the spring of 2018.
