Connecticut Sports Talk, April 19
It's Tuesday on Nutmeg Sports, and Rob Adams is in rare form. In a shocking move (not really), Rob has a rant at the end of this edition of the show.
Donald Eng is nearby to make sure Rob's blood pressure doesn't spike.
But first, we recap Monday's baseball game between Danbury and Darien from Hat City. The Blue Wave jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Hatters responded with three of their own. In the bottom of the sixth, the Hats scored three times to grab 6-3 win, knocking the Wave from the ranks of the unbeaten.
Brandon Backman of Danbury pitched a complete game, striking out 10.
Rob and Don check over the state of the FCIAC in lacrosse, including how good Darien and New Canaan are, and who can join them.
Finally, Rob dives into the topic of broadcaster bias. It seems that many New York Rangers fans believe that Mike "Doc" Emrick of NBC is considered to be "anti-Rangers" and "pro Sydney Crosby" of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Some have gone so far as to say that officials and NBC executives want the Rangers to lose. Rob addresses this -- and more -- adding a local flavor to it when he touches on some of the various things he has heard over his long broadcasting career.
The HAN Network, formerly known as Hersam Acorn Newspapers, is the exclusive FCIAC broadcast partner through the spring of 2018. HAN Network’s broadcasting division replaced HANRadio.com with a new focus on live video streams of high school athletics along with the Network’s news and lifestyle programming.
