City wants input on where to place new bicycle racks

New bicycle racks will be installed throughout Milford in an effort to enhance the city’s Bike-able City Initiative, Mayor Ben Blake announced this week.

While several locations at municipal buildings and beaches have been identified for the installation of new racks, the mayor is seeking the assistance of residents to help select appropriate and accessible sites for additional bike racks.

Bike Walk CT recently conducted a state-wide survey to determine how friendly each town's pathways are to bike and, Milford ranked in the state's top 10% of bike-able communities, city officials said.

“Milford offers our cyclists 17 miles of shoreline to tour; the popular annual event 'Folks on Spokes' has helped establish several well-marked routes around Milford,” Blake said.  “This is a community initiative and we look forward to the feedback we receive from residents.”
