As its first order of business, the Planning and Zoning Board on Oct. 6 quickly and unanimously approved a referral for the sale of the 0.14-acre property and houses at 32-34 James Street. The city acquired them through a foreclosure from property owner Jean Briscoe.

The storm-damaged beach cottages are in dilapidated condition. Built in 1908, one house is 677 square feet and the other is 603 square feet.

The Board of Aldermen will vote on the referral at its Nov. 5 meeting.
