City hosts September 11 memorial ceremony

The City of Milford will remember the events of Sept. 11, 2001 on Thursday, Sept. 11, with a ceremony beginning at 5 p.m.

The event will be held at the September 11th Monument on the historic City Hall grounds. Mayor Ben Blake invites all residents to attend.

The city has two Sept. 11 memorial sites; the other is on the grounds of Live Oaks School. The World Trade Center Memorial Garden at Live Oaks was dedicated on Sept. 9, 2002, to Milford's victims of the attacks, Michael Miller and Avnish Patel, both graduates of Live Oaks School, and to Seth Morris, who was a student at Mathewson School.

Those attending are encouraged to bring a lawn chair, as limited seating will be available. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved into the City Hall auditorium.
