The ninth session of the Citizens Police Academy will begin on Feb. 10, and conclude with a graduation ceremony on May 4.

The annual Milford Police Citizens Academy is a 12-week program, held on Wednesday evenings, where the participants will attend a session of 2.5 hours each week, learning about the Milford Police Department and the equipment used by the officers.

Participants will be introduced to a variety of topics including CPR, firearm safety, computer crimes, Police K9 teams and will have an opportunity to ride along with an on-duty police officer. The Citizens Academy is open to residents, property or business owners within the city of Milford who are at least 21 years old.

The last day for applications to be accepted will be Friday, Jan. 22.
