MILFORD — After two years, youngsters with a love for fishing will have a chance to cast their lines in the city once again.

The city and the Milford Striped Bass Club have announced that the 54th annual Milford Children’s Trout Derby will return May 7. The derby was not held the past two years due to the pandemic.

The event will run from 6 to 9:30 a.m. at the upper and lower duck ponds with awards to follow at or around 10:30 a.m.

No registration is required and all children ages 15 years and younger are eligible to participate.

Prizes will be awarded for the largest trout in four categories, and every child will receive a free grab bag at the conclusion of the day’s events.

For more information or to help support the derby, contact Trout Derby Chairman Jennifer Lalond at 203-671-9545.
