Agency on Aging seeks to honor centenarians

NEW HAVEN >> The Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut is looking for people who will celebrate their 100th birthday in 2017 or who have already passed the milestone.

The agency will hold a luncheon May 3 to honor and celebrate the lives of the centenarians.

To request an invitation for a centenarian, visit or email

AOASCC holds the luncheon for Older Americans Month in recognition of the contributions and sacrifices made to ensure a better life for future generations. Since 1963, communities nationwide have celebrated Older Americans Month each May.

This year’s theme is on how older adults are redefining aging — through work or family interests, by taking charge of their health, and staying independent for as long as possible, and through their community and advocacy efforts.
