CT News Junkie talks Hartford politics, social media attacks and more

CT Pulse, a show on politics, what’s trending in the Constitution state and more, airs Wednesdays at 12:30. Watch it on demand later, or see this week’s show below:

This week, Christine Stuart, editor of CTNewsJunkie.com, joins Kate Czaplinski and Josh Fisher by phone to talk about what's been happening up in Hartford.

Christine discusses House Speaker Brendan Sharkey's announcement he won't run for reelection, Gov. Dannel Malloy's Second Chance Society Initiative, upcoming election and more.

We also discuss a bizarre social media story that happened last week. It started after U.S. Senate Candidate and former Olympian August Wolf did not earn enough support at last Monday’s Republican Convention to primary. House Minority Leader Themis Klarides nominated State Rep. Dan Carter. Wolf shot back at Klarides on Twitter, using a photo of her from her modeling days, using the hashtag #softcorepolitican.

Later in the show, Josh and Kate discuss some of the stories we are following this week, including a graduation controversy in Shelton, involving the family of a student who died in a crash earlier this year.

Finally, Cartoonist Doug Smith gets literary with his cartoons this week.

CT Pulse is hosted by Kate Czaplinski and Josh Fisher, both former Connecticut newspaper editors. Josh is HAN’s executive producer and Kate is news director. Watch it live, Wednesday’s at 12:30.
