Bullying is topic of film and talk at Milford Public Library

Bullying will be the topic of a film and discussion at the Milford Public Library May 18 at 7 p.m.
Bully is an award-winning documentary film that follows the lives and stories of five teenagers: Tyler, Alex, Coby, Kelby, JeMaya and Ty. The film depicts the variety of bullying or harassment that they experience in their everyday lives. Bully also shows how children, parents, families and communities all have been affected by bullying, whether as victims, perpetrators or as silent witnesses. It also shows how these groups have come together in an effort to spread awareness.
As part of the Milford Library's One City, One Story program, the library is hosting an evening that is devoted to discussing bullying and ways to prevent it.
The evening will start with a showing of Bully followed by a discussion made up of community members, including Detective Richard T. Frawley representing the Milford Police Department, Christie Roche and Mindy Natale representing Milford Youth and Family Services, Teresa Ferraro representing The Connection, Inc., and John Scalice representing the Milford Public Schools.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
The event is free. No reservations are required.
