BRIDGEPORT — A person was stabbed early Saturday morning in Bridgeport, according to police.

Dispatchers received a call from someone reporting he witnessed what appeared to be a robbery in the 800 block of Maplewood Avenue around 2:25 a.m., said Scott Appleby, city emergency management director, in an email.

When officers arrived, they found a person suffering from “several non-life-threatening stab wounds” who was transported to the hospital, said Appleby.

Appleby asked anyone with information about the incident to call the Bridgeport Police Department’s tipline at 203-576-TIPS.
