Boys Ice Hockey: Notre Dame-West Haven vs. Darien

Watch Darien and Notre Dame-West Haven face off in the first HAN Network game of 2016. The two Division I powerhouses met at the Darien Ice Rink in a game carried live on HAN on Monday, Jan. 4. You can watch it for free, on-demand, below.

The undefeated Darien Blue Wave (4-0-0) host No. 1 ranked Notre Dame-West Haven Green Knights (4-1-0). The Blue Wave are ranked No. 4 in the CIAC’s unofficial Division 1 boys ice hockey rankings — but were No. 1 in last Gametime CT state poll of 2015. In the same poll, released Dec. 16, Notre Dame-West Haven is No. 4. Just before Monday's game, The Hartford Courant released its poll, which had Darien on top. The Green Knights were fourth in that poll. Greenwich was No. 2, Xavier (Middletown) was No. 3, and St. Joseph (Trumbull) rounded out the Top 5. Check out the whole poll here.

Upcoming games and more

The HAN Network will be covering numerous events throughout the FCIAC’s winter season, including ice hockey, basketball, wrestling, swimming and diving, and the conference’s postseason championships.

Basketball and wrestling make their HAN Network debut in January with Ridgefield vs. Trumbull wrestling on Wednesday, Jan. 6, and Danbury vs. Norwalk boys basketball on Thursday, Jan. 7.
